Edward J. Dazi

Edward J. Dazi, a lifelong resident of Mahopac Falls, passed away on February 23, 2015, at the age of 74. He was born in Peekskill, NY on January 15, 1941, the son of William and Irene Dazi.

Edward graduated from Mahopac High School in 1959 and served in the US Air Force. He was a foreman at Condon Lumber Co. in White Plains, retiring in 2003. Edward was a life member of the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department where he served as chief of department from 1982-83.

On June 28, 1961, he married Ann Graff at St. John The Evangelist Church in Mahopac. In addition to Ann, he is survived by his son Edward (Elisa) of Holmes, NY, his daughters, Jacquie (James) Donaghey of Mahopac, Paula Dazi of Southeast, NY and Carla (James) Ciulla of Carmel, NY, his brother, Thomas of Mahopac Falls and his grandchildren, Joy, Joni, Sean, Caitlin and Kevin. His brother Richard died earlier.

Visiting will be held Wednesday February 25, 2015, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home, 692 US Route 6, Mahopac. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, February 26, 2015, at 10 am at St. John The Evangelist Church, Mahopac with interment to follow at Ballard- Barrett Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
