Sara Etta Harrison

Sara Etta Harrison will be remembered at a special Memorial Service at Drew United Methodist Church, 28 Gleneida Avenue, Carmel, NY on Saturday, April 18th, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. A time of remembrance at Raymond Hill Cemetery and a reception will follow in Sloat Hall. All are welcome. Sara lived to the age of 107. She was born on December 27, 1900 in Tilly Foster, NY and died on December 17, 2008 in Sarasota, FL.

She is survived by her two daughter s, Virginia King and Beverly Rhodes, six grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. Sara, known as Sally, went to New Paltz Training School, then Columbia University and earned her BS in Education. Sally taught the third grade in Chappaqua, NY.

She was married to Bernard Harrison and lived at Gipsy Trail Club in Carmel. Sally was a member of the Myakka Chapter of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) and the DAC (Daughters of American Colonists). Sally was also a member of the Carmel Garden Club. Sally enjoyed playing bridge and dressing up for lunch or tea. She will be remembered with great love!
