Capsized Mystery in Resevoir
An overturned rowboat in the West Branch Reservoir in Carmel sent emergency responders into action last Friday. A motorist traveling along Route 6 between Mahopac and Carmel observed the overturned craft at 8 a.m. and called 911. The Dispatch Center notified the Carmel Fire Department, Carmel Police and members of the Putnam County Sheriff's Department. Full Story

An early morning "disaster" on the Brewster High School campus served as a wake-up call for students and faculty alike. A head-on "crash" sent emergency responders into action last week while more than 1,000 students and their teachers watched the "horror" unfold before their eyes. Full Story

Fatal Crash in Mahopac Falls Family and friends are mourning the death of a 69-year-old Mahopac woman killed last Friday in a single car crash in Mahopac Falls. Carmel Police Monday identified the victim as Bernadette Howard of Crescent Drive in Mahopac. Full Story

Luis Sanchez, owner of Fiesta Mexicana in Brewster, flashes a winning smile when you ask why he is so often behind the guacamole cart in his own restaurant. "Because I make the best guacamole.
