Letters to the Editor
Dear Editor:
I'm really excited that the Putnam Courier is back. It is so nice to have our own paper and with a population of 100,000 we deserve it!
I was a little disappointed when I read the paper. You had alot of historical information and less about the local news and events in the community. I do love to read about a historic event that took place on this date years ago, but there seems to be too much history and not enough of the "goings on" of today.
The majority of us buy the Putnam Courier, to read about Putnam County and what is happening today in the fastest growing county in NYS. We have this year's local elections, the new Carmarda Cancer Center at Putnam Hospital Center, the possibility of a Putnam Community College, Union Place, the Hotel Conference Center, Tilly Foster, new parks, tax issues, school issues, going green, government issues, and economic issues. We'd loved to hear about the events in the local towns, ie, the 4H Fair, Relay for Life, March of Dimes, what's going on in Cold Spring. There is so much to write about and we would love to read it.
I also was glad to see you brought back reporter Eric Gross. He has a great rapor with the community and is always seen around our local events getting at the heart of the story. Welcome back Eric!
Thank you for hearing my comments, welcome back, and I look forward to reading your next edition.
Wendy Erickson Dear Editor:
Just a note to say how pleased I am to see your paper again. How nice the print and layout is! I miss the Putnam news! I reared my family in Carmel and have many family and friends there. So, thank you and the Ailes. We appreciate this.

Dear Editor:
I'm so very glad to have the Courier back! I missed it. The Journal News doesn't have enough local news for my taste.
