Mahopac School Budget Rejected by Four Votes
Budgets pass in six of seven Putnam districts
Smiles and congratulatory handshakes were evident at school polling places across Putnam County Tuesday night—all except in Mahopac where voters rejected the school's 2009-2010 fiscal spending plan by a mere four votes. The $108.5 million budget that called for a 3.6 percent rise in spending was defeated by a tally of 1,091 to 1,087. Full Story
