When a Child Dies
Dear Editor: I have taken many journeys, but none as life altering as the loss of my son, Phillip in 1996. With the autumn of my life waning, I received news that my beloved first born son, Philip, age thirty-six, had been found by the night manager of a New York City Bowery flophouse, dead of a drug overdose, alone in a cubicle where he lay for two days.
