Ann Dubois is being remembered this week as a caring, giving woman who spent her entire life helping people in need. Dubois, a resident of Southeast, died last week at the age of 57 as a result of surgical complications and an infection. Full Story
Woman by 'Mr. Brewster' Bennie Rosenberg Dies in Atlanta
The man affectionately known as "Mr. Brewster" has died in Atlanta. Bennie Rosenberg passed away Tuesday at the age of 94. Bennie was a lifelong Rotarian, a Paul Harris fellow, and a member of the Buckhead Club. Full Story
American Legion Conducts Food Drive
Members of American Legion, Ar-gonne Post #71 (Brewster) conducted a food drive this past weekend at Kobacker's IGA market to benefit Putnam CAP. Post Commander Ron Lipschitz coordinated the drive, enlisting the help of the NJROTC from Brewster High School on both Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend. Full Story
Red Hat Ladies Dine 'Italiano' at BOCES
YORKTOWN - The Red Hat Ladies of Mahopac/Carmel painted the Yorktown campus of BOCES red and purple Thursday (May 14) for what has become an annual international moment for area seniors. Wearing traditional red and purple outfits, the women enjoyed a fourcourse Italian-style lunch at The Educated Palate, BOCES' student-run restaurant. Full Story

A 24-year-old Kent man faces charges of DWI when he appears in Yorktown Town Court next month. Michael Selca, 24, was arrested last week by Yorktown Police after Officer Don Peters stopped a speeding car on Route 6 near the Jefferson Valley Mall at 2am, Full Story
Crime Keeping Deputies Busy
It's been an incredibly busy time for members of the Putnam County Sheriff's Department with numerous arrests reported. Deputy Michael Sutherland apprehended Joseph Santoro, 24, of Lake Carmel outside of Putnam Hospital last week after he observed the man and remembered he was the subject of an arrest warrant for drug possession charges.
