Anna Maria Appelian

Anna Maria Appelian of Yorktown Heights, NY, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on May 22, 2009. Mrs. Appelian was born on December 10, 1926, in Montreal, Canada, to Andrea and Maria (Verrecchia) Mainardi. On September 2, 1950, she married Serap Appelian in Montreal, Canada, and she had lived in the Yorktown Heights area for the past 48 years.

She was a saleswoman for Sears in Jefferson Valley, NY. She is survived by her five beloved daughters: Diane Schlemmer of Danbury, CT; Maryann Appelian of Boca Raton, FL; Joanne Eaione of Yorktown Heights, NY; Roxanne Newman of Callands, VA; and Theresa Prewett of Roanoke, VA; her two brothers, Sergio and Pierre; her two sisters, Carolina Mainardi Charbonneau and Jeannine Mainardi; seven loving grandchildren—Theresa Fiscella, Siggi Kjartansson, Ward Schlemmer, Travis Eaione, Chase Eaione, Gary Newmark, and Jerrica Newmark and four adoring great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband Serap, who passed away in 1980, and her two brothers, Stefano and Antonio.
