Joseph R. Mosca

Joseph R. Mosca, 93, of Carmel, NY, died on June 11, 2009, at Hudson Valley Hospital. Mr. Mosca was born on February 10, 1916, in Pennsylvania to Luigi and Maria Mosca. Mr. Mosca proudly served his country with the US Navy during World War II. In 1943 he married MaryAnn Marschak. He worked for the Water Department as a Heavy Equipment Operator in the City of Yonkers, NY. He was active in his community and was a member of the VFW Post in Yonkers, NY, and was the Past Exalted Ruler in the Yonkers Elks Club. He is survived by his loving daughter Joanne, his adoring granddaughter, Dana, his sister Esther DeCola, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by MaryAnn, his devoted wife of 53 years, his brother Louis, and sisters Violet Campana, Filomena Lentulo, and Lucy Schreiber. The family would like to give a special thanks to Barbara Simone and Lee Loghi from the Putnam County Health Department, and also to Emily Oliverio.
