Brianne O'Hare is a young lady with a mission. The 20-year-old communications major at Connecticut's Quinnipiac University graduated from John F. Parishoners at St. Lawrence O'Toole Church joined forces last week to sponsor an old-fashioned carnival that not only raised money for the church but also helped to mend relationships among community members in the wake of a tragic crash earlier this month that claimed the life of a young woman and her eight-year-old daughter. Putnam County is getting tough on intoxicated motorists. Despite police on multiple levels arresting suspected drunks in record numbers across the county, Putnam's STOPDWI program has received a Special Traffic Options Program to Combat DWI grant that is being used to further rid area roads of the potential deadly drunk. Stabbing In Brewster The stabbing and robbery of a 57-year-old Central American man in downtown Brewster by three men is under investigation by members of the Putnam County Sheriff's Department. The incident happened last Thursday night around 9 o'clock when the victim was walking near Center Street and was accosted by the trio wearing hooded sweatshirts. Full Story
Charges Upgraded for Man Accused in Brewster Deaths
The man accused of running down and killing a Brewster woman and her eight-year-old daughter earlier this month now faces more serious charges of aggravated vehicular homicide. Full Story
