Cub Scouts Visi t Putnam County Court House
Wolf Den 1 and Webeblos Den 3 from Carmel Pack 1 visited the Putnam County Court House on June 8th. Judges Reitz and Rooney gave the boys a tour and discussed Putnam County's history, the court system and what it takes to be a good citizen. Violet Degnan Blooms as a Writer

Fulmar's Third Grade Pitches in to Help Putnam CAP Food Pant ry
Ms. Tracey Sheil's 3rd grade class at the Fulmar Road Elementary School in Mahopac decided to take on a community service project. They coordinated a food drive at the school and collected 5 large boxes full of food to donate to the food pantry at Putnam CAP. Full Story
150 Pupi ls Receive BOCES GED
One hundred fifty adults from 18 school districts throughout the region have celebrated the completion of their GED (General Education Diploma) from Putnam-Northern Westchester BOCES. Last week's commencement on the BOCES Yorktown campus also recognized the efforts of 77 other students who received special kudos for their work. Full Story
Cub Scouts Awarded for Conservation
This conservation awards program was initiated in 1914 by Dr. William T. Hornaday, then director of the New York Zoological Park, in an effort to inspire members of the Boy Scouts of America to work constructively for conservation. The award is the oldest conservation award given in America. Full Story
