Comcast Awards Scholarships to Two Putnam Students

Phoebe Farber of Carmel Phoebe Farber of Carmel Local high school seniors are receiving a helping hand for college in the form of $1,000 scholarships from the Comcast Foundation. The Comcast Leaders and Achievers® Scholarship Program, which recognizes students who have demonstrated leadership skills, academic achievement and a commitment to community service. Two of this year's local scholarship winners include Phoebe Farber of Carmel and Kevin Van Develde of Putnam Valley.

"Each year, we are excited to provide Leaders and Achievers scholarships to talented students, such as Phoebe and Kevin, who demonstrate leadership in school activities and reflect a strong commitment to community service," said Michael Parker, Comcast's Vice President in Connecticut. "Given the economic uncertainty facing families across New York and our nation, this year's awards take on even greater significance in helping these future leaders power their dreams for success."
