Fulmar's Third Grade Pitches in to Help Putnam CAP Food Pant ry
Ms. Tracey Sheil's 3rd grade class at the Fulmar Road Elementary School in Mahopac decided to take on a community service project.
They coordinated a food drive at the school and collected 5 large boxes full of food to donate to the food pantry at Putnam CAP. In addition, the students paid a visit to the soup kitchen, helped to set up the tables and chairs and had the opportunity to ask a lot of great questions about the programs run by Putnam CAP.
They learned that Putnam CAP is much more than just a food pantry and runs many programs, including a back-to-school supply drive, a Thanksgiving food drive, a holiday toy drive, and a summer youth employment program, just to name a few. We were happy to have them visit and hope to see them again next year.
