Bulldogs Top Nanuet, 2-0, Behind Brackenrig One-Hitter

by Skip Pearlman

BREWSTER - The Brewster Bulldogs 15-and-under baseball team picked up a 2-0 victory over Nanuet last Saturday in a game played at Brewster High School.

Ryan Brackenrig picked up the win on the mound for the Bulldogs, tossing a one-hit shutout, as Brewster improved to 3-2 overall, 1-0 in league play.\

The Bulldogs scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth - one on a wild pitch, the other on an RBI single by Peter Zambelleti. Jesse Levy also doubled for Brewster.

"We played real well," Bulldogs manager Joe Cotone said. "Our defense was above average, and Ryan pitched out of trouble (bases loaded with one out) in the fifth, getting a double play. He pitched a great game - he threw strikes and kept his pitch count down. Jesse also had a good game, and our defense was good all around."

Brewster plays in the Blue Chip Prospect Tournament this weekend on Staten Island.
