Greg Amato takes oath as Lake Mahopac Rotary president Putnam County's oldest Rotary chapter has a new president. Greg Amato of Mahopac, a retired police chief in Carmel who volunteers with the Red Cross and numerous other community and civic organizations, took his oath of office last week as president of the Lake Mahopac Rotary. Hours before the Independence Day holiday got underway, Putnam County celebrated a special prayer vigil honoring God and the birth of our nation. At the Cornerstone Park in downtown Carmel, the Putnam County Leadership Prayer Breakfast Committee sponsored the event, which was attended by some two dozen public officials and local residents. Richard Grasso remembered Richard Grasso, who left a tremendous impact on the Brewster community, will always be remembered in Brewster through two meaningful recognitions. Grasso, 51, married and the father of three children, perished in May in a horrific three-vehicle crash on Route 22 in Patterson. Full Story
