CARMEL - The Carmel Cubs 16-year-old Blue baseball team split its four games last week. The Cubs dropped an 8-4 decision to North Salem Sunday, and fell to Cortlandt, 10- 6, Saturday. Carmel posted a 4-1 victory over Lewisboro last Friday, and defeated Kent, 13-1, one day earlier. Full Story

14 Year Olds Take Down Cortlandt, Lewisboro, Improve to 7-1
CARMEL - The Carmel Cubs 14-and-under baseball team picked up two wins last week, beating Cortlandt, 7-1, Saturday on the road, after ripping Lewisboro, 16-1, the prior Thursday at Lewisboro. Saturday against Cortlandt (1-6), the Cubs got a strong effort from JJ O'Connor, who picked up the win on the mound in relief of starter Sean Escaravage. Full Story

BREWSTER - The Tri-County Bulldogs 15-and-under baseball team picked up three wins last week, beating the Clarkstown Stars, 4-2, Saturday, after topping TCB, 10-8, Saturday, and the TCB 16U team, 2-0, last Friday. In game one Saturday at Albertus Magnus HS, Joe Vacco got the win for the Bulldogs (10-7 overall, 5-1 league). Full Story

KENT - The Kent White Sox 10-yearold baseball team shut down Somers, 1-0, last Thursday, after posting a 9-8 victory over Lagrange two days earlier in WPBA play. Thursday at Somers (1-7), Chris Deitz picked up the win for Kent, pitching five innings of no-hit ball. Full Story

There are strong rumors circulating around Mahopac that Santa Claus made a guest appearance, riding in the passenger seat of a Carmel Fire Department pumper in last Thursday night's Mahopac Fire Department parade.
