Brewster High Alumnus Promotes Patriotism
Kevin McPartland, 18, a graduate of Brewster High school, was honored at the Annual Chief Nimham Pow Wow by Gil Tarbox as the President of the Children of the American Revolution, along with Ms. Patricia Avigne, Senior NY State President, and Lois Wood Schmidt, Senior National President, who all came to Putnam County to support the New York State project to fund the addition of a fire pit to the Chief Nimham Memorial.
McPartland will be entering his second year at Boston College, where he studies mathematics and plays on the Boston College lacrosse team. He has spent a good portion of the summer traveling around the country to several regional meetings of the Children of the American Revolution, the oldest and largest patriotic youth organization.
McPartland’s community service doesn’t stop with CAR, he was also instrumental in establishing the first Putnam County Great Stories Walk to Cure Cystic Fibrosis, which was held this May at the Putnam County Veterans Park. McPartland’s younger brother, Brian, suffers from this life-threatening disease.
