Injured or orphaned wildlife now have a chance for survival, thanks to four area residents and a Southeast business.
A wildlife rehabilitation hotline manned around the clock, seven days a week, became operational last week when 1-866-WILD-331 answered its first calls. Full Story

Regarding “Tax Increase” (Sept. 3), Putnam County Legislator Dini LoBue offers the following clarification: “I am completely against raising the sales tax. It is counterproductive to economic development in the County which affects everyone.” Full Story
Putnam Women’s Resource Center Benefits From Golf
Christmas came a few months early for the Putnam Women’s Resource Center, thanks to the efforts of a group of golfers.
The West Hills Women’s Golf Association held its annual benefit tourney last month at the Heritage Hills Golf Club in Somers and raised just under $14,000, which the membership decided to donate to the women’s center. Full Story
