Putnam Valley Opens with 20-14 Win over Lincoln Hall
PUTNAM VALLEY – After a sub-par campaign in ’08, the Putnam Valley High football team wanted to come back strong this year. The Tigers had their shot in the season opener against new league opponent Lincoln Hall Friday night, and the Tigers pulled out a 20-14 victory. Full Story
Tough Week Sees PV Routed
PUTNAM VALLEY – The Putnam Valley boys soccer team opened its season last week at Lakeland in a non league game, and fell to the Hornets, 3-1. PV also had a tough task against a very good RCK team Monday, and after holding the Indians to just one goal in the first half, the Tigers fell, 6-0. Full Story
Brewster Girls Top Dover, Pawling to Win Tournament
BREWSTER – The Brewster High girls soccer team started the season on a high note last week, topping Dover, 5-0, Wednesday, then beating Pawling, 4-1, Saturday at home to win their own tournament title. The Bears took their first loss on Monday, dropping a 2-0 decision to North Salem on the road. Full Story

Indians Field Hockey Team Wins Somers Tournament
‘Pac routs By Hills, blanks North Salem
MAHOPAC – The Mahopac High field hockey team got off to a good start to the 2009 season, picking up two wins, out-scoring its first two opponents by a 9-0 margin, and taking home the Somers Tournament championship title.
Mahopac (2-0) routed Byram Hills, 7-0, in last Thursday’s tournament opener, then topped North Salem, 2-0, in Friday’s championship game. Full Story
Mahopac Girls Trip Up Tigers in OT
MAHOPAC – The Mahopac High girls soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Somers in the first round of the Yorktown Tournament last Thursday, but the Indians rebounded with a 2-1 overtime win over North Salem in the tournament’s consolation game Saturday at Yorktown. Full Story
