Girl Scout Helps to Make Hospi tal Stays for Kids a Little Less Stressful

Girl Scout Emily Griffin (right) of Mohegan Lake recently presented Putnam Hospital Center Director of Development and Community Affairs Anita M. Minella with a toy cart for pediatric patients at the Carmel hospital. Working towards her Gold Award, the 13-year Girl Scout raised funds for five carts, purchased supplies, outfitted them and delivered them to area hospitals for their pediatric units or emergency departments. The carts are designed with activities and toys for children of all ages for use during hospital stays.
