‘Pac Girls Shut Out North Salem
MAHOPAC – The Mahopac High girls soccer team picked up a 2-0 victory over North Salem in a non-league game played last Wednesday at North Salem.
Erin Felix and Denise Palumbo each scored for the Indians (2-1), and Jenna Ruocco added an assist.
Monica D’Ippolito had 13 saves for the Indians, and North Salem’s Victoria Crenson stopped four shots.
“It was a good game,” Indians coach Ross Fumusa said. “We’re building with each game… moving in the right direction. Denise Palumbo played well for us, she had a nice goal in the upper corner, and our defense – Mariah Vellek, Caitlin Hynes, Donna Perruzza, Jackie Leo and Monica – played very well. The defense is really coming together.”
Mahopac was set to host Arlington today (Thursday) at 4:30pm at the high school, and the Indians host Carmel Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Lakeview Elementary School.
