Update on the Putnam Trailway bike path
At the September 17, 2009 meeting of the Hamlet of Carmel Civic association, Putnam County Planner, John Pilner, provided Hamlet residents with an update on the construction progress of the Putnam Trailway Bike Path. The path, which is already complete between Baldwin Place, NY, and the Hamlet of Carmel, is being extended to Southeast and, eventually, to the village of Brewster. Full Story

Two of the world’s most highly acclaimed ballet aficionados have teamed up with the Putnam Arts Council and Arts on the Lake to bring professional ballet instruction to Putnam County.
Maria Calegari and her husband, Bart Cook, residents of western Kent, have been teaching young students and pre-professionals all over the US as well as ballet companies worldwide. Full Story
