That is, unless you ask members of the Mahopac High football team.
After all, Mahopac came into Saturday’s annual grudge match against Carmel with little on its resume to suggest there would actually be a battle.

Wins Elude Brewster Field Hockey
BREWSTER—The Brewster High field hockey team battled to a pair of 1-1 ties last week, against Mahopac and Pawling, and the Bears opened the week with an 8-3 loss to Putnam Valley.
Saturday against Mahopac, Michaela Spannaus gave Brewster a 1-0 lead late in the first half, assisted by Marisa Delzio. Full Story
PV Field Hockey Keeps Rolling with Win
PUTNAM VALLEY-—The Putnam Valley High field hockey team snatched an impressive 8-3 victory over Brewster at home last Tuesday.
PV has been playing well lately, and the Tigers continued to gel in their showdown against Brewster. Full Story
Putnam Valley Volleyball Snags First Win
PUTNAM VALLEY-—The Putnam Valley High volleyball team got its first win last Thursday after dropping its first five meetings. The win came at home against Lakeland.

Brewster Girls Race to First Place at New Balance Invitational, Boys Place Second
BREWSTER-—The Brewster High girls cross country team took first place, out of 20 teams, at the New Balance Ocean State Invitational Cross Country Meet Saturday in Warwick , RI. Brewster’s boys team placed second, among 32 teams.
In the girls race, Brewster finished with 61 points. Ramsey, NJ was second with 77 points, and New Fairfield was third with 97. Full Story
