BREWSTER—The Brewster and Carmel High boys soccer teams fought to a 2-2 tie in a League 1-B game played last Thursday night at Carmel High School. Brewster also dropped a 1-0 decision to Lakeland in another overtime game Monday at Lakeland.
Against Lakeland (6-1-2), Michal Kociuba came through with the gamewinner for the Hornets with 2:00 left in the first overtime period. Full Story

’Pac Soccer Stays Hot
Roll to wins over Panas, Yorktown
MAHOPAC—The Mahopac High boys soccer team kept the intensity up last week, and picked up two more wins. The Indians shut out Panas, 4-0, Saturday in a League 1-B matchup on the road, and Mahopac topped Yorktown, 3-1, two days earlier at home.
The two wins left the Indians at 6-1-2 overall, and 2-0-1 in league play. Full Story

BREWSTER—Whatever could go wrong did go wrong for Brewster Saturday, as the Bears dropped a 46-0 decision to Poughkeepsie in a League A-North game played at Poughkeepsie High School. Full Story
Put Valley Struggles in Loss to Albertus Magnus

Valley high football team lost a nonleague game at home to Albertus Magnus Friday night by a score of 23-8.
The Tigers, who started the season off strong with two victories, have quickly fallen to 2-2, after losing to Albertus Magnus in ugly fashion. Full Story
Carmel Field Hockey Team Tops Yorktown, Ties Ossining
CARMEL – Sarah McCormack’s goal early in the second half was enough to earn the Carmel field hockey team a 3-3 tie against Ossining in a League 1-B game last Thursday at the George Fisher Middle School. The Rams picked up a 3-1 league victory over Yorktown the prior Tuesday at Carmel. Full Story
Brewster Field Hockey Team Finishes Third at Own Tournament
BREWSTER – The Brewster High field hockey team placed third at its own tournament last weekend. The Bears tied Dover, 0-0, in round one, then lost in strokes, and then ended in a 1-1 tie against Pawling in the consolation round, winning in strokes, 2-1.
The Bears also got blanked, 4-0, by Lakeland the prior Wednesday at Brewster. Full Story
Rams Retain Hope for Playoffs after Big Win
CARMEL – A 22-yard field goal by Dylan Lovett turned out to be the difference Saturday, as the Carmel High football team handed Arlington its first defeat of the season, 16-13, in a League AA-North game at Carmel.
Lovett’s boot actually provided Carmel with the first points of the game, coming in the second quarter. Full Story
’Pac Indians Still in It
MAHOPAC – Frank Langella’s fouryard touchdown run gave the Mahopac High football team a 25-21 victory over John Jay CR in a League AANorth game played last Saturday in Cross River.
John Jay (1-3) had taken a 21-18 lead in the second quarter, when Jameson Pickel threw an eight-yard TD pass on a fourth down play. Full Story
Brewster Girls Soccer Down Lakeland, 2-0; Bears Slowed by Carmel in 5-1 Loss
BREWSTER – The Brewster High girls soccer team picked up a 2-0 victory over Lakeland last Friday, after dropping a 5-1 decision to Carmel two days earlier. Both were League 1-B games.
Friday at Lakeland (2-5, 0-4), freshman Kristen Ohberg came through with two goals – one on a penalty shot and another on a long break from near midfield. Full Story
Mahopac Girls Soccer Rolls Past Panas, Drops Two
MAHOPAC—The Mahopac High girls soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Somers Monday in a non-league game played in Somers. Mahopac also topped Panas, 5-1, Saturday, and dropped a 2-1 decision to Yorktown – both in League 1-B games.
Monday against Somers, Melissa Menta scored the winner for the Tuskers, who improved to 7-4. Full Story
PV VBall Drops Three
PUTNAM VALLEY—The Putnam Valley high volleyball team dropped their last three matches, all of which were league meetings. The Tigers have a record of 1-9.
On Monday PV lost 3-0 at home to Ossining. “It wasn’t our best game, but every game somebody surprises me” said coach Heather Henkels. “We just need to get everyone on the same page.” Full Story

PUTNAM VALLEY—The Putnam Valley high boys and girls cross country teams competed in the Brewster Bear Classic on Saturday. The prior Tuesday they ran in Ossining at Ryder Park and lost.

Friends Reunite at CHS Athletic Hall of Fame
Fifteen Carmel High School graduates of yesteryear, along with the 1989 CHS Varsity Baseball team, are now members of the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
Many of the scholar-athletes attended a special plaque-unveiling inside the school last Saturday before being introduced on the football field at the school’s Homecoming Game. Full Story
