Eugene D’Angelo

EUGENE D’ANGELO 1936 – 2009 EUGENE D’ANGELO 1936 – 2009 Eugene D’Angelo, of Carmel, NY, and Corinth, NY, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2009, at his home in Corinth. He was 73. He was born in the Bronx on October 10, 1936, the son of Vito and Rose Reilly D’Angelo.

Eugene was a retired machinery distributor and was the owner of Allied Steam in Mahopac Falls, NY. He was a member of the Putnam County Fish and Game Association and volunteered with Senior Net through the Mahopac Public Library. He was a member of The Miniature Rock Garden Society, and an avid cook, hunter, photographer, and gardener. “Gene,” as most folks referred to him, loved his summer retreat in the Adirondack Mountains and spent all of his spare time there; he called it “the Camp”— his retreat.

He married Margaret C. Siegfried at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Lake Carmel, NY, in 1958. Margaret died on December 24, 2002. He is survived by his daughters and their husbands, Deborah and Paul Fenick of Brookfield, CT, and Vickie and William Yakimetz of Orlando FL; his brothers John D’Angelo of Ossining, NY, and James D’Angelo of Marlboro, MA; his sisters Dorothy D’Angelo of Raleigh, NC, and Diana D’Angelo-Culhane of Mahopac, NY; his brothers-in-law, Henry Siegfried of Mt. Vernon, NY, and Leonard Siegfried of Illinios; and his grandchildren, Melissa, Ryan, and Evelyn.

Visiting hours were Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home, in Mahopac. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 10am at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Lake Carmel, with interment to follow at Ballard-Barrett Cemetery, Mahopac Falls, NY.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
