Brewster Swimmers Win Divisional Championship
Bears set for weekend sectionals
BREWSTER—The Brewster High swim team won the Conference 1 divisional championship last Saturday at Beacon High School, edging out Arlington and John Jay EF.
The Bears finished with 360 points. Arlington totaled 337, and Jay took third with 250. Full Story

Rams Playoff Run Stifled by Late-Game Admiral Comeback
ARLINGTON—Up by 11 points with just over six minutes to go it looked like the Carmel Rams would be advancing past the Arlington Admirals in the opening round of Class AA football playoffs. Senior R.J. Krauss had just scored on runs of 47 and 58 yards and the Rams had overcome some early turnovers and kept the Admirals’ offense in check. Full Story
Remembering an Old Friend on the Hunt

My oldest friend, Mike McBride, from Lake Carmel, is out in a tree stand, overlooking a farm field in South Carolina on the first day of a five-day, semi-guided deer hunt on a large ranch. Mike is hunting with his sons, Kevin and John, and a cousin, hoping to bring home venison for the fall and winter freezer, and maybe couple of trophy racks to boot. Full Story
Brewster Knocked Out Early in 14-0 Loss to Yorktown
BREWSTER—It was a quick 1-2 knockout combination, and then a long, cold and wet night for the Brewster High football team, which was shut out 14-0 Friday night in a non-playoff loss at Yorktown.

PUTNAM VALLEY—The Putnam Valley cross country team went to Bowdoin Park in Wappinger Falls for the Coaches Invitational on Saturday. Out of 67 total teams, Putnam Valley finished 32nd. Full Story
Rams, Indians Settle for Scoreless Tie
MAHOPAC—Courtney Stein’s goal with 4:15 remaining turned out to be the game-winner last Thursday, as the Mahopac High field hockey team edged Yorktown, 4-3, in a League 1-B game played at Mahopac.
Mahopac also dropped a 6-0 decision to Lakeland, and the Indians battled Carmel to a scoreless tie in a game played the prior Wednesday at Carmel. Full Story

MAHOPAC—Dillon Addonizio ran for 112 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries to lead the Mahopac High football team to a 35-0 rout of Clarkstown North in a non-playoff game Friday night at Mahopac. Full Story
Brewster Boys Run Well Take Second at Invite
BREWSTER—Placing only two runners in the top 10 and four in the top 20, the Brewster High boys cross country team had to settle for a second-place finish at the Coaches Invitational, run at Bowdoin Park in Wappingers Falls Saturday.
Honeoye Falls Lima was first with 52 points, Brewster was second with 61, and Suffern placed third with 96 points. Full Story

PUTNAM VALLEY—The Putnam Valley High girls soccer team lost their final game of the season at home to Croton by a score of 4-1.
It was a disappointing end to senior night for the Tigers as they lost in a hard fought game. Full Story

Putnam County’s sole female fire chief, Ann Link, took her oath of office at the Mahopac Falls Fire Department installation, but the evening belonged to two longtime members of the fire service—Art Brady and Bob Johnson—who both passed away this year. Full Story
