Early Thanksgiving for seniors

Thanksgiving will be coming early again this year in both the Brewster and Carmel School Districts.

Senior citizens planning on attending special Thanksgiving luncheons two weeks from today (November 19) are reminded to call the Office for the Aging to make a reservation.

Seniors in the Brewster School District have been invited to the John F. Kennedy Elementary School for the 11am meal that will be followed by a special student musical presentation.

The complimentary luncheon, consisting of turkey and all the trimmings, is underwritten each year by the Brewster Teachers Association.

Residents in Southeast or Putnam Lake interested in attending are asked to call the Office for the Aging at 225- 1034, ext. 47100 no later than today (Thursday).

Meanwhile, plans are proceeding for the Carmel School District Thanksgiving feast that will take place at four locations—George Fischer Middle School, Kent Primary School, Matthew Paterson Elementary School, and Carmel High School.

Roasted turkey, cranberry sauce, vegetables, and dessert will be served from 10:30-11:30am at the middle school; from 11am to 12noon at the two elementary schools and from 11:45am to 12:30pm at the high school.

Those interested in attending are reminded to call the Officer for the Aging at 225-1034, ext. 47100 by next Thursday (Nov. 12).

The Carmel Teachers Association is again sponsoring the meal, resulting in no charge to those “seasoned” citizens attending.
