Putnam, Westchester Realtors Unite

The region’s real estate industry has arrived in the 21st century with the creation of the Putnam-Westchester Association of Realtors.

Last Friday, members of the former board of directors of the Putnam Association of Realtors met for the final time in Brewster and announced the creation of the larger organization.

Eileen Barrett of Carmel, president of the old Putnam group, said the new organization consists of 445 members from Putnam County and 7,200 from Westchester: “We were finding numerous cases of duplication of services before the merger. Since a number of realtors from southern Dutchess have joined our group and the former Putnam organization has a centralized location in Brewster, we decided to combine our resources with the larger Westchester realtors association that will serve everyone in the tri-county area in a much better fashion.”

The new group will retain two offices— one in White Plains and a second at 155 Main Street in Brewster.
