Colonial Days: Schoolchildren from Southeast and North Salem groom oxen at Philipsburg Manor during a live study of Colonial America. Teacher Marcy Rudolf of North Salem Pequenakonck Elementary said her first graders were fascinated by their trip to the working farm in Sleepy Hollow. The trip coincided with the children’s study of Colonial America and a special social studies unit called “Now and Long Ago.”
