Indians Fail to Get on Track

BY SKIP PEARLMAN
MAHOPAC—Consistency. It’s been a problem for the Mahopac High football team throughout the season, and Saturday it reared its ugly head again.

The Indians were unable to generate any kind of consistent offense, and worse yet – they couldn’t slow down RCK, which scored a touchdown in each quarter to record a 25-7 victory in a non-playoff game at Ketcham.

The win puts Ketcham in a meaningless bowl game next week, while Mahopac will play another non-bowl matchup game – though no one seems able to explain a difference between the two.

Mahopac will host Lincoln today (Thursday) at 5 p.m. in its season finale. The Lancers (2-6) are coming off a 7-6 loss to Mamaroneck.

The ‘Pac scored its only touchdown of the game in the second quarter, when TJ Foley located Dillon Addonizio with a 14-yard touchdown pass.

RCK quarterback Sal Cuccia threw four TD passes, and finished 8-of-14 for 168 yards. Two of those TDs were scored by Aaron Morganstern, and Ricky Demers had the other two TD catches. Dennis Malles rushed for 105 yards for the Dutchess Indians.

Addonizio finished with just 27 yards on nine carries, one of his lowest totals of the season. He also had two receptions for 27 yards and the TD. Foley was 10-of-16 for 103 yards and a TD in the air, and ran for 28 yards on eight carries.

Mark DiCarlo caught three passes for 26 yards, and Frank Langella came up with three receptions for 32 yards for Mahopac. PJ DeMercurio also had a fumble recovery for the ‘Pac.

Ketcham‘s defensive front kept good pressure on Foley, sacking the Mahopac QB four times.

And they were able to run a bit… but their passing game also hurt us.”
