Swine Flu in Perspective

Dear Editor:

My heart goes out to all those afflicted with the Swine Flu, children and adults. But most especially to those who have lost their lives in the pandemic. The media reports the number of children who have died from swine flu on a particular day or over a span of time and that number continues to grow.

My heart also goes out to the most vulnerable, those who have lost their lives through abortion on the same day or during the same span of time as reported for the Swine Flu. Why aren’t those numbers given to us as well? Are they too staggering for us to hear? I challenge the media to report the figures for the purposeful termination of life along with those who succumb to the Swine Flu. A loss of life is a tragedy at any time or any place (in or out of the womb).

A just nation is concerned about all life.
