Bears set to make first-ever trip to Federation Meet
BREWSTER—The Brewster High boys cross country team, fresh off winning a Section 1 Class A championship, took their act to the state championship meet at SUNY Plattsburgh last weekend, and posted an impressive fourth-place finish.
Burnt Hills (38) was first in Class A, McQuaid (57) was second, Calhoun (78) was third and Brewster (88) followed. Full Story

MAHOPAC—Every coach tries to plan their season in such a way that their players are in peak form for a playoff run.
This fall’s edition of the Mahopac High field hockey team was playing some of its best games late in the season, and the surge paid off for the Indians, who went into the playoffs strong, and nearly upended the top seed. Full Story

BREWSTER—The Brewster High field hockey team had an up-and-down season, but played well at times, closing out the fall with a 6-5-6 record.
The Bears advanced to the playoff tournament, where they drew the No. 5 seed. After receiving a first-round bye, Brewster fell to Pleasantville, the No. 4 seed, 2-1, in the quarterfinals. Full Story
Putnam Valley Cross Country Teams Enjoy Strong Season
PUTNAM VALLEY—The Putnam Valley high boys and girls cross country teams both enjoyed some success this year.
The Tigers won four of their five dual meets, losing only to Ossining, the same team that would edge them out for the league championship by a single point. Put Valley finished fifth out of 12 teams in their section. Full Story

BREWSTER—The Brewster High boys soccer team continued to show improvement, and showed some good signs during a fall season that saw the Bears go 8-8-2 and reach the playoffs.
Brewster defeated Peekskill, 5-2, in a Class A out-bracket game, then fell to Lakeland, 1-0, in the first round of the tournament. Full Story

Father, Son Compete in NYC Marathon
Brendan and Sean Gavin have a common bond.
The father and son, who reside in Stormville, ran the New York City Marathon and both completed the rigorous 26.2 mile course.
Sean, 18, a senior at Carmel High School, and Brendan, 51, a carpenter by trade, decided some time ago to run the marathon together. Full Story
