Original recipes created by chefs around the globe turned the teacher’s lounge at Brewster High School into a culinary delight.
Last week after school, the school’s Global Community Club sponsored the annual International Food Festival, which attracted more than 100 students, faculty, and staff.
Club advisor Ruben Hernandez commended his students, led by senior Vaishari Parkash, for organizing an “outstanding event. What a variety of homemade delicacies are available! Co-advisors Tina Master and Mary Hoey are also thrilled with the students’ efforts.”
Parkash, who serves as president of the Global Community Club, was assisted by other members of the organization by displaying heaping trays of foods from China, Japan, Guatemala, India, the Philippines, Cuba, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Poland, and of course the USA.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jane Sandbank is provided a plate of the homemade delicacies courtesy of Global Community Club President Vaishari Parkash.
Teacher Jessica Juska tries a Chinese dish as BHS freshman Deanna Fieary looks on.
The food is served buffet style to the delight of students as well as adults.
