Thanksgiving came a week early again this year in both the Brewster and Carmel School Districts.
Senior citizens attended special luncheons last Thursday at the John F. Kennedy School in the Brewster District and at the Matthew Paterson Elementary School, Kent Schools Complex, George Fischer Middle School, and Carmel High School in the Carmel School District.
The complimentary luncheons, consisting of turkey and all the trimmings, were underwritten by the Brewster and Carmel Teachers’ Associations.
The grandmas and grandpas were greeted by students and staff and were entertained during their holiday dinners with such songs as “Over the River and Through the Woods” and “Autumn Leaves.”
The overall favorites were lively renditions of “Shoo Turkey!” “Five Fat Turkeys!” and “A Turkey Named Bert!”
