Town of Carmel seeks volunteers

It must be a sign of the times!

Volunteerism is waning in the Town of Carmel, as officials report seven vacancies existing on a variety of municipal boards and committees.

Supervisor Kenneth Schmitt reported the openings last week, telling the Courier positions are available on the Carmel Environmental Conservation Board, Board of Assessment Review, Architectural Review Board, Carmel Planning Board, Recreation and Parks Advisory Committee, Carmel Zoning Board of Appeals, and the town’s Cable TV Advisory Board.

The supervisor has requested those interested to forward him a resume at Carmel Town Hall, 60 McAlpin Avenue, Mahopac, NY 10541. Resumes can also be faxed to the supervisor at 628-6836 or e-mailed at amp2@ci.carmel.ny.us.

All resumes should be received no later than Jan. 15, 2010, with the Town Board interviewing applicants and making appointments early next year.
