Air Force Airman PAUL Z. PLATEROTI graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force. He is the son of Rocco Plateroti of Dreps Drive, Mahopac, N.Y., and the nephew of Salvino Gallinelli of Old Yorktown Road, Yorktown Heights, N.Y. Plateroti is a 2006 graduate of Mahopac High School.

Airman Paul Z. Plateroti Airman Paul Z. Plateroti Army Pvt. PETER R. PIFER has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and experiencing use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewman. He is the son of Peter and Laura Pifer of Glenna Drive, Carmel, N.Y. Pifer is a 2009 graduate of Carmel High School.

Airman Alfred P. Gebing David Airman Alfred P. Gebing David Air Force Airman Alfred P. Gebing Jr. graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Neurosurgeon P. CHARLES GARRELL, MD, of Chappaqua, who is affiliated with New York Medical College, received his medical degree at the State University of New York at Syracuse; his postdoctoral training included an internship in general surgery and a residency in neurosurgery at the University of Iowa, followed by an NIH-Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Iowa and a William P. Van Wagenen Fellowship at the Université Joseph Fourier in Grenoble, France. Dr. Garrell is board certified in neurosurgery.

Gebing David Gotlieb Gebing David Gotlieb Internist DAVID GOTLIEB, MD, of White Plains, who is affiliated with Health Quest Medical Practice in Mahopac, received his medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. His postdoctoral training included an internship and residency in medicine at Westchester Medical Center, where he was chief medical resident. Dr. Gotlieb is board certified in internal medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.

Radiation oncologist ANNE KIM, MD, of Hopewell Junction, who is affiliated with Mid Hudson Valley Radiation Oncology Associates, received her medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her postdoctoral training included an internship in medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center, a residency in radiation oncology at the University of Wisconsin Hospital & Clinics, and a radiation oncology residency at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center, where she was chief resident.
