Santa Claus Visits Lake Carmel on December 12
Santa Claus arrives in Lake Carmel on Saturday courtesy of the Lake Carmel Fire Department.
Chief James Hauth, who is assisting the jolly fellow this year, reported this week that Santa will be taken around the streets of Lake Carmel atop a fire truck to “check on all boys and girls” while handing out candy canes.
The chief urged parents to “listen for the music and fire truck sirens” between the hours of 9am and 4pm.
The fire department will also be accepting toys on behalf of the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program. Donations will be accepted by the firefighters on Saturday. The chief said toys can be given to “Santa’s helpers riding on fire trucks as they proceed through neighborhoods, or they can be dropped off at the firehouse.”
In the event of inclement weather, Santa’s visit will be postponed one week until Dec. 19.

"Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master."
