AUtHOR SpEAKS ON RAILROAD

Joe Schiavone, author of the new book More of the Old Put… a sequel to his best seller The Old Put… will speak at the Southeast Museum on Saturday December 12 at 10:30AM. Free lecture focuses on NY Central’s Putnam Division.Discuss history, station stops, and see new rare film footage of steam and diesel trains on the Put. DIAMOND DRAWINg

Putnam ARC is raffling off a $4,000 diamond on Saturday, Dec. 12 at 11am at Daniel Jewelers, Route 22/A&P Plaza, Brewster. Raffle tickets are just $25 for a chance to win a $4,000 diamond and other great prizes. SHERMAN CHURCH CHRIStMAS

The Sherman Church Children’s Christmas Pageant will take place Sunday, Dec. 13, during the 10am service. The choir under the direction of Minister of Music Carolyn Kopsick will present a Christmas Concert for the community that same day at 4pm in the sanctuary. It will combine classical and contemporary selections to provide an opportunity to reflect and rejoice in the beauty of the season.

Christmas Eve services will be at 7:30pm with a Family Christmas Celebration and at 11pm with a service of Lessons and Carols. After each service, worshipers will form a circle outside and light candles to shine in the darkness and sing of the birth of Jesus Christ.
