Board of Education meeting draws enthusiastic students
The December Mahopac Board of Education meeting was packed, both with students and with enthusiasm. During the curriculum report, Middle School Principal Ira Gurkin introduced two presentations on the unique features of Mahopac’s curriculum, a required Tech Class, and a Looping Program that keeps students with the same teachers and students from year to year. Kent Senior Center construction halted
The future of the new Kent Senior Center planned for Ludingtonville Road near the Putnam-Dutchess County line is now in the hands of the New York State Legislature. Full Story

‘Welcome to Mahopac’ signs dedicated
Two new hand-painted Welcome to Mahopac signs have been unveiled at the entrance to the hamlet.
One sign is located on Route 6 at Crane Road near the Carmel-Mahopac border and the second has been installed on Route 6 east of the Baldwin Place- Mahopac line. Full Story
