Putnam not being an industrial county its citizens do not take the personal interest in the tariff laws that they should. It is of vital interest to the homes and its people for it effects their daily lives in that it effects the cost of living to every man, woman and child while it adds but little, if anything, to their incomes either in wages or salaries.
