PUTNAM VALLEY—The Kennedy Catholic/Putnam Valley high ice hockey team got a win Sunday, beating Somers/North Salem, 4-2, but Friday Kennedy/Put Valley lost its first game of the season to Sleepy Hollow/Irvington, 9-4. Bears Beat John Jay to Win Duals
BREWSTER—The Brewster High wrestling team came up with a clutch performance at last weekend’s North County Dual Meet Tournament at Yorktown High School, defeating John Jay of Cross River, 42-34, in the tournament finals to claim the crown.
The win was noteworthy because Jay had beaten Brewster handily (43- 23) the prior Monday. Full Story
Mahopac Struggles Against Jay
MAHOPAC—The Mahopac High boys basketball team dropped a league game to visiting John Jay-East Fishkill, 47-39, Thursday night to drop its record to 1-4.
Senior forward Chase Thompson led the Indians in scoring with 13 points. Senior Ryan Wagner had eight. Thompson also led the team in rebounds with eight and Wagner had three. Junior guard Kevin Carey led in assists with four. Full Story

Carmel Finishes 2nd at Cornwall
CARMEL—The Carmel High wrestling team finished in second place at last Saturday’s Cornwall Dual Meet Tournament, and Rams coach Bill Twardy wasn’t complaining about the runner-up status.
“I have to be happy,” Twardy said of the second-place finish. “Cornwall is a very formidable team, and most of our guys wrestled well.” Full Story

BOWLING
PUTNAM VALLEY—The Putnam Valley high bowling team lost a match to Yorktown last Thursday, 7-0, and beat Ossining Wednesday, 7-0.
“It was an up and down week,” said coach Gerard Kerley. Thursday’s loss to Yorktown was the obvious down part of the week. The Tigers lost all three games, to lose by a final of 2,485 pins to 2,323 pins. Full Story

PUTNAM VALLEY—The Putnam Valley High girls basketball team lost to John F. Kennedy Catholic High School at home Monday by a score of 53-38. Last Tuesday (12/15) they beat Haldane at home, 47-41, and both were non-league games.
Monday night coach Kelly Thompson saw her team lose; she saw them struggle with many things she has been stressing to her team from day one. Full Story
