They were missing Flamio, so that helped, but a lot of our guys won matches that could have gone either way. Those were key. Alvares wrestled well against a tough opponent, Mike Panchishak came through with a pin, and we wrestled well as a team.”

In Friday’s win over Yorktown, Carmel got pins from Tom Davidson, Kirk, Kevin Davidson and Vince Pecora. Tom D’Ambrosio, Chris Pecora, Autieri and Panchishak won by decision. Petriello won via DQ.

In Mahopac’s loss to Sleepy (16- 2), the Indians got wins from Bocker, Caruso, Bachmeier, Pagliuca, Flamio, Bruen and Scopino.

Carmel was set to travel to John Jay EF today (Thursday) at 4:30 p.m., and the Rams are at the Beacon tournament Friday and Saturday.
