Brothers escape injury in school bus crash
Brothers aged 15 and 17 escaped injury Friday when a school bus taking them home overturned on Route 312 in Southeast after the driver was stricken with a medical emergency.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department investigated the mishap that closed Route 312 for over an hour and resulted in massive traffic back-ups during the afternoon rush. Full Story
Schools delay budget panic, retain Sandbank until 2013
At the Brewster Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, January 19, President Stephen Jambor told the board “not to panic” about nearly $1.1 million in aid that Governor Paterson’s new budget will cut from the school district. “We do have a guardian angel, [Senator] Leibell,” Jambor said. Full Story

Carmel Rotarians have invited the community to exercise while raising funds for a non-for-profit organization.
