Carmel Grapplers Come Up Big, Deny ‘Pac
CARMEL—The Carmel High wrestling team recorded a 41-35 win over crosstown rival Mahopac last Wednesday in a league match at Carmel High School. Carmel also picked up a 41-27 victory over Yorktown, and closed the week at 11-3.
Mahopac also dropped a 42-35 decision to Sleepy Hollow a day later at Mahopac. Full Story

BREWSTER—The Brewster High hockey team outplayed the Carmel High hockey team in a Friday night game at the Brewster Ice Arena, but came up short thanks to Carmel's Marc Glaviano. The senior goaltender stopped 38 shots to carry the Rams to a 3-2 win. Full Story

BREWSTER—The Brewster High indoor track team competed in the League 1-B championships last week. The boys finished first and edged out Lakeland/Panas by only 13 points, the girls finished second behind Lakeland/Panas. Full Story
Carmel Girls Take Round Two from Brewster, Hand Hornets First Loss
CARMEL—Carmel girls basketball coach Dan O’Hare had this week circled on his calendar, knowing his Rams would be taking on three of the premier teams in the section in Brewster, Lakeland and Ossining.

CARMEL—Chris Fazio of Lakeland poured in 30 points, and out-rebounded Carmel all by himself, as the Hornets buzzed the Carmel High boys basketball team, 65-51, in a League 1-A game played last Thursday in Shrub Oak. Full Story
Brewster Rolls Past Dover, Mahopac, Improve to 9-2
BREWSTER—Mike Blank had 16 points to lead the Brewster High boys basketball team to a 75-42 victory over Dover in a non-league game Friday at Brewster. The Bears also topped Mahopac, 54-45, in a League 1-A game played one day earlier at Brewster. The two wins left the Bears at 9-2 overall, 4-1 in league play. Full Story
Kennedy Buries Haldane, North Salem, in Pair of Blowouts
SOMERS—The Kennedy Catholic High boys basketball team overpowered a pair of opponents last week, routing Haldane, 70-29, Thursday, after running away from North Salem, 77-45, two days earlier.
The two wins left the Gaels at 5-3.
Thursday at Haldane (2-8), it was over early, with the Gaels racing to a 30-9 lead at the end of just one quarter. Full Story
Lady Indians Drop Games to Panas, Brewster
MAHOPAC—The Mahopac High girls basketball team played its best game of the season in a 42-21 home loss to Brewster last Wednesday that dropped its overall record to 0-10.
That loss followed one to Walter Panas one day on the road by a score of 40-16. Full Story

PUTNAM VALLEY—The Putnam Valley wrestling team took part in the Middletown Duals on Friday and Saturday with eight other teams. Put Valley finished 3-4 in the two-day tournament. Full Story

MAHOPAC—The Mahopac High boys basketball team followed up a few great wins two weeks ago with two tough losses last week.
The Indians lost to host Brewster 54- 45 last Thursday. They also lost at home to Walter Panas 63-51 two days before. Full Story

MAHOPAC—The Mahopac High ice hockey team defeated a strong John F. Kennedy/Putnam Valley team 5-1 last Friday night at the Brewster Sports Arena in a Conference 1 game to improve to 6-3-2 overall and 6-2-1 in the conference.

CARMEL—With their team split up at two separate events Saturday, the Carmel High track team looked to qualify runners for nationals while competing for the league championship. PUTNAM VALLEY—The Putnam Valley boys basketball team lost a league game to Croton, 42-31, last Thursday.
“They’re a good team,” said coach Ralph Smith. “We usually get out to slow starts and have to play catch up with teams. This time we came out aggressive and played our game.”
