Three-vehicle crash snarls traffic

ERIC GROSS ERIC GROSS A Connecticut woman was admitted to Danbury Hospital with chest trauma while two other drivers suffered less serious injuries as a result of a three-vehicle crash on Route 6 at Starr Ridge Road in Southeast on Tuesday.

The mishap took place at 10am when a red Saturn driven by the woman collided with a Cadillac Escalade SUV that went out of control and plowed head-on into a Chevy pickup.

Air bags were deployed in all three vehicles due to the violent impact.

Brewster FD Rescue Squad personnel under the command of Assistant Chief Dave O’Hara rushed to the scene and assisted the injured.

Brewster State Police investigated the crash, which snarled traffic at the busy intersection that abuts the exit to I-84.

Also assisting at the scene were members of the Brewster FD Fire Police, paramedics from the TransCare Ambulance Company and a representative of the Putnam Bureau of Emergency Services.

Police issued no summons pending completion of the accident investigation.
