Glaviano’s Heroics Carry Rams Into Second Round
Carmel tops North, 3-1 in opener
CARMEL—Two weeks ago senior Marc Glaviano picked up his first career shutout, and on Sunday he turned in an even more impressive performance.
Glaviano finished with 46 saves to lead the seventh-seeded Carmel High ice hockey team past 10th seeded Clarkstown North, 3-1, in the first round of the Division 1 playoffs. Full Story

Harker picks up game-winner for Mahopac
The Mahopac High School hockey team moved on to the Section 1 quarterfinals after defeating Mount Pleasant in a tight 2-1 victory at the Brewster Ice Arena on Sunday night.
The Indians were set to play No. 4 White Plains on Tuesday, too late for this edition. The winner advances to the semifinals, set for today (Thursday) at the higher seed. Full Story

JFK/PV Hockey Team Ties Brewster
PUTNAM VALLEY—The John F. Kennedy/Putnam Valley high ice hockey team went up against Brewster last Wednesday, the game ended in a 4-4 tie.
For Kennedy/Put Valley this game was simply a warm-up for the playoffs, they already clinched the second seed and a first round bye. This game carried much more weight for Brewster, a win or even a tie would earn them a playoff spot. Full Story
Bears’ Season Put On Ice
BREWSTER—After earning a playoff spot in their final game of the season the Brewster High hockey team came up short in their bid to upset Sleepy Hollow/Irvington, losing 6-4 in the opening round of the Division II playoffs.
The Bears entered Monday's game with a record of 4-15-1, and were seeded 13th. Sleepy Hollow had a record of 12-6-2, and were seeded fourth. Full Story

USA Karate located at the Patterson Recreation Center entered 8 fighters in the NY vs Ct Kickboxing and Jiu-Jitsu championships at the Holiday Inn in Fishkill New York. Saber Aggoub won his Boxing bout vs Kevin Vale with a 3rd rd knockout , Juliano Zanettti won 2 fights in one night beating both Dominic Costa and Brandon Buk. Full Story

The 3rd grade CYO basketball team from St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Shrub Oak won the Brewster
Super League championship game Thursday night, Feb. 11, 2010. It was a an exciting game with Seton
taking an early lead against Newtown, CT. Newtown charged back in the second half, but Seton held on for a

When November 9th rolled around, most of the Putnam Valley basketball players and fans were sharing the same feeling: another disappointing season coming their way. There was one person who had other thoughts for the season and that was Coach Ralph Smith.
