Arthur B. Penny
Arthur B. Penny, age 50, of Ephratah, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 1, 2010, after a long and courageous battle with colon cancer. He was born on Aug. 17, 1959 in Mt. Kisco, Ny a son of Edward Penny and Thelma Woodcock Penny. He grew up in Croton Falls, NY and graduated from North Salem High School. He has lived in Ephratah for the past ten yrs.
Art was a truck driver and Harley and snowmobile rider for many yrs. He loved spending time outdoors, hiking in the Adirondacks and bird watching. He was a member of the Ephratah Rod & Gun Club. Survivors include his mother of Croton Falls, his brothers John F. Penny of Albin, WY, and James W. Penny of Croton Falls, NY; his sister Thea Daday and her husband Russell of Brewster, NY; his sister in law Lathleen Penny of Millerton, NY, his very special friend, Brigette Higgins of Johnstown and many nieces, Nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Edward H. Penny and his brother Edward L. Penny. A graveside service will be held on Tues. March 9, 12pm at Ivandell Cemetery in Somers, NY. Calling hrs. will be Mon. March 8 from 3-5 & 7-9 at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster, NY 10509.
