Kindergartners collect 100 cans of food for food pantry
The 100th day of school has come and gone for children at the Mahopac Falls Elementary School.
The day proved to be beneficial for the St. John’s Church Food Pantry in Mahopac, when the seven kindergarten classes collected 100 cans of food per class in conjunction with the celebration. Full Story

$10,000 raised at Rotary Shootout
Inclement weather failed to dampen the spirits of dozens of basketball enthusiasts who turned out Saturday at Carmel High School for the annual Carmel Rotary Basketball Shootout.

Civil War comes to life for fifth graders
History came to life for fifth graders at the Pequenakonck Elementary School in North Salem during a special visit from a Civil War re-enactor.
Jim Meaney gave the young people marching orders by teaching the 10-year-olds residing in Carmel, Southeast, Croton Falls, North Salem, and Somers about military formation drills used in the American Civil War. Full Story
