Save the date: Rotary Fish and Chips event
Eric Gross

A sure sign of spring takes place next Friday when the Carmel Rotary sponsors its 15th Annual Fish and Chips Dinner.

The event is planned on March 19 starting at 4pm at George’s Restaurant on Gleneida Avenue in downtown Carmel.

Dinner includes salad, fresh fish, fries, hush puppies, dessert, and a beverage. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for senior citizens, and $10 for children under 12. Kids can enjoy chicken nuggets if they prefer.

Gus and Karen Pourakis, owners of George’s Place, once again will open their restaurant to the community after hours so members of the Rotary will be able to raise money for a variety of scholarships offered each year.

Longtime Rotarian Al Lotrecchiano has encouraged the public to participate: “The evening is very enjoyable as neighbor meets neighbor. People come from far and wide for the fundraiser. The food is always delicious and the company is even better.”

Reservations can be made in advance by contacting any member of the Carmel Rotary or by stopping at George’s and purchasing a ticket.

Tickets can also be purchased on the day of the dinner.
