MAHOPAC
Teen defensive driving class offered at Mahopac Library
Driving, like any other skill, is something we typically get better at over time—with practice. If this weren’t the case, 16-year-olds wouldn’t have higher accident rates than drivers of any other age. When you factor in additional distractions such as cell phones and other inexperienced passengers, practicing safe defensive driving becomes that much more difficult.
Mahopac Public Library will be hosting a Teen Defensive Driving Class for drivers aged 16-21 on Saturday, March 27, from 10 am until 4 pm.
This six-hour class will emphasize young drivers’ issues and experiences in a format similar to the Alive at 25 driver safety program.
Completion of the class will result in a ten percent liability insurance discount to the principal operator of the vehicle, as well as a maximum of four points off the driver’s violation record.
The cost for this class is $35 per person and enrollment is limited. Preregistration with payment is required; checks should be made payable to Jack Coxen.
Individuals interested in attending this class can register at the Information Desk on the first floor of the Mahopac Public Library. For further information please call 845-628-2009, ext 100.
